1940-41                                          Return to Year-by-Year             HOME

STATE CHAMPIONS  CLASS AA: Wyandotte  CLASS A: Lyons  CLASS B: Sublette

More flirtation with a .500 season in this season. Best players on this team were Leo Landon and Lester Renyer. Often times these early basketball games turned into "rough and tumble" games. The win over Alma ,12/19/40,  had 35 personal fouls called - five players fouled out and Renyer and Waters were expelled for unsportsmanlike conduct.

CCHS had the best finish in the Jayhawk (8-6) in all of the 1940's. The WW II years were bleak in regard to the win column for CCHS .
