Bill Arnold replaced Tom Stringer as football coach in 2007. Coach Arnold's previous experience as a head football coach was at Scott City where he compiled a 56-17 record over 7 years. He graduated from Benedictine College and claims Holton as his high school alma mater.

Coach Arnold has already accomplished great things with the Hayden football team. The 2008 version of the team won Hayden's 3rd championship in football by defeating Perry-Lecompton in the CLASS 4A State Championship game at Salina this fall. All Hayden fans are happy he decided to take the job here and hope he will stay for a long time.

Update * The 2009 team ended a roller coaster season as the Class 4A runner-up to Bishop Miege.
